Besides updating this website, I have been also busy preparing for the annual Performing Arts School week with the Australian Youth Choir children (Geelong center), coming up in just a few days. Immediately after, on Friday, June 11th, the choristers from all over Victoria will combine for their second annual concert - this time they will accompany Darryl Cotton who will sing some old favourites by the BeeGees, Steve Wonder and others.

St.Joseph's College is preparing for the production of "Seussical the Musical". The show will be staged at the Geelong Performing Arts Center August 14-16th. Great music! My son and myself are having lots of fun rehearsing with the band, conducted by Amy Wert.

A little nervous, as the fact my daughter did actually sit a successful audition for "Oliver", has "sunk in". She's going to be one very tired 9 year old with rehearsals mid-week evenings till 10pm and Sundays afternoons, with more as they approach the production dates: first show Friday, October 10th, 2008 (if you wish to see "Oliver" on that day, let me know, as I may be able to get you discount tickets if notified before July 15th).

Our string quartet, "The String Inc", performed recently in Birregurra during one of their music festivals - the young players worked very hard towards the event and felt greatly rewarded to have been asked to return for the main music festival, in October .

At the Geelong Community Orchestra, we have also held yet another successful concert on Sunday, May 18th! But wait...there is more: this year is the Orchestra's 25th anniversary - to see what else we have for you performance-wise click through to the GCO section of this website.

On Sunday, June 22nd, GCO also took part in the "Winter Solstice" concert - a combined performance of the St. Joseph's College students, Bay City Strings and GCO. An evening of fine music playing by all!
